TORONTO (November 20, 2023) – With many families in the GTHA struggling to make ends meet this holiday season due to the high cost of living, CTV News Toronto’s annual TOY MOUNTAIN campaign returns for the 28th year of supporting The Salvation Army in bringing holiday magic to those in need. The TOY MOUNTAIN campaign collects new, unwrapped toys for families, beginning Thursday, Nov. 23 with a special broadcast on CTV News Toronto’s CTV NEWS AT SIX, live from Bass Pro Shops at Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre. Supporters can stop by with a donation and enjoy an evening of festive live entertainment and hot chocolate. Leading up to the campaign finale on Friday, Dec. 22, CTV News Toronto’s Lyndsay Morrison and Andria Case once again lead daily TOY MOUNTAIN progress updates on CTV NEWS AT SIX, Toronto’s most-watched evening newscast, airing at 6 p.m. ET on CTV,, and the CTV News app. Viewers can track campaign updates and find a list of live broadcast and toy drop-off locations on TOY MOUNTAIN’s official website and social media accounts. The 2023 campaign marks 28 years of generosity from viewers and donors, helping to make the season brighter for thousands of children across the GTHA.
